First-principle calculations of the electronic and atomic structures of 2D materials based on aluminum and aluminum nitride

Для дослідження структурних, електронних та зв’язуючих властивостей двовимірних систем Al/AlN з кубічною та гексагональною симетрією проведено розрахунки за допомогою теорії функціоналу густини (DFT) з перших принципів. Результати показують, що кубічні системи Al(001)/AlN(001) стабільні при нульовій температурі для 1–3 шарів Al, тоді як гексагональні системи Al(111)/AlN(001) нестабільні для більш ніж одного шару Al. Ці результати мають важливе значення для розуміння стабільності та потенційного застосування двовимірних матеріалів на основі Al/AlN у сучасних нано¬технологіях. У кубічних структурах довжина зв’язків Al–Al може зменшуватися до 17%, а зв’язки Al–N скорочуються до 7%, тоді як зв’язки N–N збільшуються до 5% при переході від об’ємних до двовимірних структур. Гексагональні структури також демонструють зменшені довжини зв’язків під час таких переходів. Обидва типи систем є металевими, причому гексагональні системи демонструють сильнішу металічність. Значне перенесення заряду від Al до N відображає іонну природу зв’язку Al–N в обох системах.
